Vermont Watercolor Society exhibit opens on May 4

WEST BRATTLEBORO — The Arts Committee of All Souls Church invites the general public to an opening reception at West Village Meeting House on Saturday, May 4, from 2 to 4 p.m., for “The Flow of Watercolor,” an exhibit by nine members of the Connecticut Valley Hub of the Vermont Watercolor Society.

Showing their works in the foyer and other gallery spaces through the end of June are Carolyn Allbee, Carole-Anne Centre, Maisie Crowther, Nancy DiMauro, John Dimick, Kathy Greve, Steve Lloyd, Molly Martin, and Cath Stockbridge.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, VWS was founded by a small group of painters in 1995 and today has more than 240 members throughout the state. The group's mission is to promote awareness and appreciation of watercolor to its membership at all levels of ability and to the community by providing opportunities and venues for participation, education, fellowship, and exhibitions.

The Meeting House, located at 29 South St., is otherwise open from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to noon, as well as during Sunday worship services and other public events in the building, or by appointment.

South Street is off Route 9 about 1.2 miles west from Exit 2 off Interstate 91. Take a left at the West Brattleboro common, crossing in front of the new fire station, and head up a wooded driveway across the beginning of South Street. Handicapped parking is available off a paved lane to the right at the top of the drive.
