Literary Cocktail Hour features regional mystery writers

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Literary Festival will host a free virtual Literary Cocktail Hour.

The event, on Friday, July 17, at 5 p.m., will feature three mystery writers: Archer Mayor, Paula Munier, and Julia Spencer-Fleming.

Archer Mayor is the locally-loved author of the Vermont-based Joe Gunther series. The Orphan's Guilt, the 31st book in the series, is forthcoming in September.

Paula Munier is the creator of the Vermont-based Mercy and Elvis mystery series featuring former Army MP Mercy Carr and her retired bomb-sniffing dog, Elvis.

And Julia Spencer-Fleming is the author of the series featuring Reverend Clare Ferguson and Chief of Police Russ Van Alstyne, based in Miller's Kill, N.Y. The ninth book in this series, Hid From Our Eyes, was released in April.

Their conversation will be moderated by Sarah Stewart Taylor, also a Vermont crime novelist.

To register for this free event, visit bit.ly/LitCocktail3. Registered participants will be able to interact with the author in a question-and-answer session. The event will also be live-streamed on the Brattleboro Literary Festival's Facebook page without registering at m.facebook.com/brattleborolitfest.

This will be the third of a series of Literary Cocktail hours hosted by the Festival.
