Rock ’n’ roll—themed films kick off monthly film series at Latchis

BRATTLEBORO — A new monthly film series will crank the volume to 11.

Partnering with The Peak, 101.9 and 100.7 FM, Latchis Arts kicks off its new monthly Spotlight Film Series by celebrating Rocktober.

Some of the most highly acclaimed rock 'n' roll movies will screen on Thursday nights through October in the Latchis's main theater.

The series opens Thursday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., with School of Rock, the 2003 comedy starring Jack Black as a substitute teacher who livens up his uptight students by teaching them how to rock.

Rocktober screenings will continue on Thursdays in October, culminating the final week with showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30 and 31, at 10 p.m.

Latchis Arts' Spotlight Series presents films on a different theme every month, with a particular commitment to showcasing cinematic voices and topics that deserve a heightened focus.
