Everyone Eats! resumes in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO - Operations have resumed for Everyone Eats!, a program that distributes free meals from Brattleboro restaurants to anyone in need who lives in Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, Putney, or Vernon.

Approximately 850 meals per day are available Monday through Thursday between 4 and 6 p.m., or until supplies run out, to serve these communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pickup for individuals will be at the C.F. Church Building at 80 Flat St., and group/institution orders can be picked up at Mama Sezz on Route 9 in West Brattleboro. All meals are available Monday through Thursday,

The meals are free, but organizers are grateful for donations to help make more meals possible for others.

Everyone Eats! also supports the local economy by providing a source of income for restaurants that have been hurt by COVID-19 and provides Vermont farmers and food producers an opportunity to increase sales, since 10 percent of the ingredients are purchased from Vermont producers.

Each participating restaurant will contribute meals two or more days a week. You will receive one individually packaged cold ready-to-eat or heat-and-serve dinner for each person you request a meal for.

Women's Freedom Center hosts online dialogue series

BRATTLEBORO - The Women's Freedom Center will host “Inspiring Change 2021,” a month-long community dialogue. This free virtual event will take place over four Thursdays - Feb. 11, 18, and 25, and March 4 - from 7 to 8 p.m.

Organizers say the goal of the dialogue is to “reimagine and help shape what's possible in a new era. We'll outline what we do and invite questions, plus your own best thinking.”

They say that each conversation will build on those before, so they recommend attending all four. Topics will include “aiming for economic and legal justice, media literacy across the lifespan, and bystander empowerment to address all forms of oppression, in particular domestic and sexual violence.”

All are welcome to participate.
