St. Michael’s Episcopal will hold Sunday services at Christ Church

BRATTLEBORO — St. Michael's Episcopal Church is offering outdoor worship - not at its Bradley Avenue home, but on the grounds of Christ Church on Route 5 in Guilford, known as St. Michael's Mother Church.

All Sunday services, weekly at 8 and 10:15 a.m., will be held at Christ Church, weather permitting, through the months of warm weather ahead.

“As many remember, we experienced outdoor worship at Christ Church last summer and fall and it was really great to be together,” St. Michael's Rector, the Rev. Mary Lindquist, said in a news release. “Although we still need to abide by many restrictions, we can accommodate 100 people at each service, so no one will be turned away.”

As per Diocesan guidelines, masks must be worn, there will be no singing, and each family group can sit together, with 6 to 10 feet between family groups. Those who attend will sit in their own pod of chairs.

If rain or other impeding weather is forecast for a Sunday morning, a decision regarding the outdoor service will be made by noon on Saturday and posted on the church website.

Those who wish to attend are asked to inform the church office to ensure maximum safety for all by leaving a message at 802-254-6048, ext. 104. Please provide the name of a primary contact for the group, a phone number, and the number of people to be attending.

All St. Michael's Episcopal services will still be accessible through Zoom, with the link available on the website. In addition, 8 a.m. services are broadcast the following week on Brattleboro Community Television and available at brattleborotv.org.
