Circus school will host open house on Sept. 4

BRATTLEBORO — New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) hosts a free Open House at its trapezium on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Quench your curiosity and see how circus classes can help anyone express themselves, reach fitness goals, de-stress, and have fun,” the school wrote in a news release. “Play on a low trapeze, learn to juggle, balance on a wire, test out aerial silks, and meet NECCA's expert instructors. Beginners welcome!”

Visitors can watch student demos and ask questions about fall classes for youth (age 5 and older) and adults, which begin on Tuesday, Sept. 7 and run through Sunday, Oct. 17, at the event and receive a $10 discount for enrolling.

Youths must be accompanied by an adult.

For those who believe in NECCA's work, Jenna Struble, the organization's new executive director, will be on hand to discuss how community members can help the school, which offers scholarships based on demonstrated financial need.

NECCA's trapezium is located 1 mile north of downtown at 10 Town Crier Dr. To enroll, visit necenterforcircusarts.org; for more information, call 802-254-9780.
