Women’s Chorus offers ‘Heartsong Singalong’

Pandemic-inspired twist on the annual concert raises funds for the arts organization

BRATTLEBORO — Members of the Brattleboro Women's Chorus, led by Director Becky Graber, will perform their fall “HeartSong Singalong” via Zoom on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m.

“Some of the songs are very easy to join along with, and Becky will teach a song or two to all,” organizers write in a news release.

After over a year of singing exclusively on Zoom, this fall the chorus was able to sing in person as well, recording song tracks that provide the basis for the Singalong.

Singers will be muted during the event, so the chorus suggests that participants should “ feel free to sing along in the comfort of your homes, if you wish.” Lyrics will be posted in the chat.

Normally, the fall event takes the form of an in-person concert and provides a significant part of the organization's income, “so we are asking you, our audience, to pay the cost of a ticket to help keep our budget healthy this year,” organizers add.

Tickets cost $10 to $25 and will include access to a recording of the event through Nov. 28, for ticket holders unable to watch it live.

Participants cmay register for the Zoom link and pay for a ticket at bit.ly/639-singalong.
