Wojcicki, Só Sol to perform at Stage 33 Live

BELLOWS FALLS — Wojcicki ['Voy-CHEECH-key'] will celebrate the release of their second album, Failure to Illuminate, with a concert at the Stage 33 Live listening room, 33 Canal Street., on Saturday, July 2, at 7 p.m., with special guests Só Sol.

Wojcicki is the vehicle for songwriter and performer Matt Sharff, along with his long-time musical conspirators Bethanie Yeakle and Garth Tichy. Sharff began performing in his teens with bands in his native New York City at venues like CBGB, Max's Kansas City, Brownies, Mercury Lounge, and The Fort.

Since relocating to Southern Vermont, he's played from music festivals NXNE in Toronto to SXSW in Austin, sharing stages with broadly diverse artists including Emmylou Harris, The Jayhawks, Bill Kirchen, The Silos, Mark Mulcahy, Roky Erikson, NRBQ, The Misfits, and Bernie Sanders. He's recorded and performed with Adam Yauch (Beastie Boys), T-Bone Wolk (Hall & Oates), Buddy Cage (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Dan and Claudia Zanes, Jon Carroll (Starlight Vocal Band), and more.

Só Sol is a Massachusetts-based Brazilian/American husband-and-wife duo with a vintage sound drawing on old soul, Americana, '60s Tropicália, folk, bluegrass, and rock. Formed 13 years ago by Jessica DaSilva and John Garrett, the group performs original songs featuring guitar, foot percussion, banjo, and vocal harmonies in English and Brazilian-Portuguese.

Seating for the show is limited. For more information, visit stage33live.com. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
