Summer Sale benefits Marlboro Alliance

MARLBORO — After a two-year hiatus due to Covid, the Marlboro Alliance will hold its 63rd Summer Benefit Sale on Saturday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.- outdoors and under tents - at the Marlboro Elementary School grounds at 2669 VT Route 9.

Sales are by donation to benefit the Marlboro Alliance. The sale will include good-quality used clothing for children and adults and baked goods, homemade snacks, and beverages will be for sale. Treasures, books, toys, and household goods will be waiting for new homes.

On Sunday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to noon, all remaining items are free, but donations are appreciated.

Those who wish to contribute clean, usable clothing or housewares may drop off items on Friday, July 29, from 9 to 3. Volunteers will screen donations, and donors are asked not to bring old tires, musty clothing, mildewed books, broken toys, or vintage computers.

Those who wish to contribute their time and energy for set up, sale days, baked goods, or clean up on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. can do so online at tinyurl.com/marlboro22.

The Marlboro Alliance is an all-volunteer charitable nonprofit organization. Every dollar they receive supports their many community initiatives.

They include the Town Meeting Lunch, the Volunteer Thank-You Breakfast, and financial support for Marlboro Cares, the Marlboro Mixer, and the Marlboro Fair, as well as the Meeting House, the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Company, and Deerfield Valley Fuel Assistance and Food Bank.

They also provide emergency assistance to townspeople in crisis and annually award $5,000 in scholarships to elementary, high school, and college students. Find out more at marlboroalliance.com.
