Sofia Talvik returns to Wardsboro for Town Hall concert

WARDSBORO — Sofia Talvik, an Americana/Folk musician with Swedish roots, returns to Wardsboro's Town Hall stage on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m., for her first performance here since April 2017.

Talvik said in a news release she is eager to share new songs from her eighth studio album, Paws of a Bear, released in September 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic forced her to cancel two big release tours planned for 2020, and she is making up for lost time with a North American tour this fall.

“I hope I get to see some beautiful fall colors on this tour,” said Talvik. “I'm looking forward to coming back to some favorite venues, as well as some new ones, but most of all I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of friendly faces. The online shows I did during the pandemic certainly fit a purpose, but I prefer to be able to see my audience in the room with me.”

The hall will be open at 6:30 p.m. Due to continued COVID-19 caution, masks will be available and state COVID-19 guidelines in effect as of Sept. 16 will be followed. Admission is by donation. Audience members are invited to bring their own refreshments. For more information about the show, call 802-896-6810 or email [email protected].
