Windham Child Care Association names interim Executive Director

BRATTLEBORO — Windham Child Care Association Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Raposa to the position of Interim Executive Director following the departure of former Executive Director Sadie Fischesser earlier this month to serve as field director for the Agency of Human Services.

Raposa has served the agency in the capacity of director of family programs for the past two years.

“We are thrilled Elizabeth accepted this offer,” said Windham Child Care Association Board Chair Jim Maland. “We felt she has really demonstrated her grasp of the complex issues the organization faces through her work with the agency's family programs. With a deep understanding of this work and existing relationships with the staff and board, Elizabeth was a natural choice to guide the agency forward.”

Raposa joined the staff of Windham Child Care Association in 2008, first serving as the senior subsidy specialist before moving in to the role of director of family programs. Prior to coming to Windham Child Care Association, Raposa was the coordinator of the Parent Outreach Program at the Monadnock Family Resource Center, a program of Monadnock Family Services (MFS) in Keene, N.H. She also brings extensive experience in the field of early education from her previous positions with Early Education Services and as an infant-caregiver instructor.

“I am really excited to serve the families and children of Windham County in this new capacity. It is certainly a challenging time for parents as well as child care providers, and this agency is committed to offering critical support to our constituents,” said Raposa. “I am honored the board has shown such confidence in my abilities, but I know our capacity to move forward successfully comes from the staff as a whole. In that regard, I am really grateful for the skilled and capable people we have on board in this organization.”
