Brattleboro water main flushing begins May 5

BRATTLEBORO — Utilities Division crews will start the spring flushing of the town water mains on Thursday, May 5, at 10 p.m., and continue through Saturday, May 21. Water main flushing will occur both at night and during the day.

Customers are asked to check the flushing schedule closely as flushing causes water discoloration, low water pressure, and in some areas, intervals of no water. Night flushing will occur from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Day flushing will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

• Thursday, May 5: Marlboro Road area and Stockwell Drive. Water will be off for several hours in the following areas: Carriage Hill, Yorkshire Circle, and Hampshire Circle.

• Friday, May 6: Marlboro Road area, Western Avenue from Marlboro Road to Melrose Terrace.

• Saturday, May 7: Western Avenue from Edward Heights to Interstate 91. Water will be off for several hours in the following areas: Signal Hill, Hillcrest Terrace, Carriage Hill, Hampshire Circle, Yorkshire Circle, Greenleaf Street, Country Hill, Green Meadow, South Street, Thayer Ridge, West Village Meeting House, New England Drive and Brattle Street.

• Sunday, May 8: Western Avenue from Interstate 91 to junction of Green and High Streets, Brattle Street, Crosby Street, Williams Street area. Water will be off for several hours in the following areas: Signal Hill, Hillcrest Terrace, Solar Hill, Greenhill Parkway, Brattle Street and New England Drive.

• Monday, May 9: Daytime, Bonnyvale Road, Glen Street, Carriage Hill; nighttime, Cedar Street, Spruce Street area, Greenhill Parkway, Chestnut Hill, Green Street, High Street and School Street area.

• Tuesday, May 10: Daytime, Greenleaf Street area, Sherwood Hollow and Westgate area. Water will be off from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Greenleaf Street, Green Meadow, and Country Hill; nighttime, Guilford Street, Signal Hill, Hillcrest Terrace, Maple Street, Chestnut Street, and Esteyville area.

• Wednesday, May 11: Canal Street from Maple Street south to John Sietz Drive, Fairview Street, Ledgewood Heights, Winter Street, Fairground Road, Atwood Street, Sunny Acres.

• Thursday, May 12: Daytime, S.I.T., Dickinson Road, Kipling Road, Black Mountain Road; nighttime, Canal Street from Main Street to Maple Street, Lexington Avenue, Belmont Avenue, Horton Place, Homestead Avenue, Brook and Clark Street area, Flat Street, and Elliot Street (east end).

• Friday, May 13: Prospect Street, South Main Street, Marlboro Avenue area, Frost Street, Elliot Street (west end).

• Saturday, May 14: Clark Avenue, Moreland Avenue, Mountain View, Baldwin Street, Oak Grove, Fuller Drive, Blakeslee Street, and Pine Street.

• Sunday, May 15: Washington Street area, South Main from Lawrence to Prospect Street.

• Monday, May 16: Cotton Mill Hill, Vernon Road, and Morningside.

• Tuesday, May 17: Daytime, Tri-Park from Winding Hill Road from Marlboro Road to Village Drive, Village Drive, Maplewood Drive, Lynwood Drive from Maplewood to hydrant near house No. 16, Hemlock Drive, Valley Road, Edgewood Drive, and Woodvale Road; nighttime, Oak Street area, Main Street area.

• Wednesday, May 18: Linden Street, Route 30, Park Place, Putney Road from Park Place to Vermont Veterans Memorial Bridge.

• Thursday, May 19: Daytime, Tri-Park and Deepwood from Winding Hill Road, Deepwood Drive, Lynwood Drive to house No. 22, Windward Drive, Stonewall Drive, Record Drive, Autumn Hill; nighttime, Vermont and Eaton Avenue, Terrace Street, Tyler Street, Walnut Street, and Wantastiquet Drive.

• Friday, May 20: Daytime, Exit 1 and Old Guilford Road to Welcome Center; nighttime, Putney Road from Vermont Veterans Memorial Bridge to Exit 3, Adair Heights, Technology Drive, Chickering Drive.

• Saturday, May 21: Putney Road north of Exit 3, Ferry Road, Glen Orne Drive, Justin Holden Drive, and Brown Court.
