BRATTLEBORO The Sweetback Sisters' Country Christmas Singalong: The harmonies of Sweetback Sisters Emily Miller and Zara Bode are presented with twin fiddling and holiday cheer. The band takes inspiration from the Davis Sisters and Louvin Brothers as well as the honky tonk energy of Wanda Jackson and Loretta Lynn. This show requires audience participation (lyric sheets are provided) and a love of holiday music. 7:30 p.m. $15-$18 day of show. BRATTLEBORO Sam's Sunday Set & Shed: This final mentor-protege concert series of the year features Samirah Evans along with five students who have studied jazz vocals with her. Following a break to share pot-luck food, the band will invite aspiring vocalists and musicians, as well as seasoned pros, to join them onstage for a “jazz woodshed” session to work on their improvisational skills. 4 p.m. $10 suggested donation for adults, $5 for students 18 and under. BRATTLEBORO Festival of Lessons and Carols: The Festival of Lessons and Carols uses artistic and literary imagery to tell a universal story of love through carols, choral music, and group singing. Joining the St. Michael's Choir and music director Susan Dedell is a string quartet comprised of Kathy Andrew, Michelle Liechti, Peggy Spencer, and Judith Serkin, as well as organist Clark Anderson. 4 p.m. Through Sunday, December 16, 2012.
