BRATTLEBORO Poetry in Motion II: For this multifaceted, multidimensional event showcasing ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop and belly dance, music video producer/choreographer/director Anthony Manuel enlisted the help of Jessica Jean Weston and Jacob Alan Roberts of Equilibrium Vermont to offer: artists doing live painting, chair massage for those in need, and poetry and retail wares from the Equilibrium Studio Gallery. 4 p.m. dance performance; 3 p.m. pre-show festivities. $12 in advance, $15 at the door. BRATTLEBORO Three Days of Music: Pianist Harvey Diamond, protege of Lennie Tristano, and Hannah Rose Diamond, his singer daughter, will be joined by Claire Arenius on drums and Jamie MacDonald on bass. The next day, local musicians Jim Curty, tenor sax; Jon Mack, alto sax and flute; Steve Frankel, upright bass; "Sonny" Lou Erlanger, guitar; and Lowell Laporte on drums play the music of Charlie Parker, Frank Foster, Thelonious Monk, and more. The "Behop String Sextet," the second ensemble, features Gabby Fluke-Mogul, violin; Joe McConaughy, viola; Porter Lazzari Fitch, guitar; Rob Athanasopolous, upright bass; Kate Parsons, piano; and Sam Lazzaro on drums playing a set featuring Lennie Tristano's "Ablution," Pat Metheny's "Bright Size Life," Jimmy Raney's "Motion," and more. On the last night, Gabbi Walton, Anne Thomas, Jeanuska Fishell, Scott Sizer, Lynda Symans, and BD Dworkin from the Vocal Jazz Repertoire class will sing songs of Jobim, Cole Porter, Bill Withers and others from the American Songbook.
