BRATTLEBORO Peter Gould, author of "Horse-Drawn Yogurt: Stories from Total Loss Farm": This is a collection of true-life stories of a young man's life on a southern Vermont farm commune at the height of the utopian movement. Young people, new to the land, learn how to tend gardens and farms while also demonstrating against the Vietnam War and calling for peace and justice around the world. noon - 1 p.m. Free. BRATTLEBORO Creepy Halloween Cupcakes: Come in costume. Be ready to decorate cupcakes with magical and edible "this" and "thats." After the class, have a bite to eat at the Cafe before joining others for the "Horribles Parade," which begins right outside the front doors of the Co-op. GUILFORD Trick or Treat: Families with young children (most appropriate for kids 7 and younger) are invited to trick-ortreat at the Guilford Free Library and the Library's seven neighbors in Guilford Center. At the Library, trick or treaters can look forward to cider and doughnuts, a few ghostly activities, and a book to put into your trick-or-treat bag. Next door at the Meetinghouse, we'll gather on the stage for a special Hallowe’en storytime, some creepy songs, and a costume dance. The Mistress of Ceremonies is Laura Lawson Tucker and spooky music will be provided by Bob Tucker. Start between 5 p.m. - 6 p.m., 6 p.m. visit to the Meeting House. Free.
