BRATTLEBORO "World War I and American Writers": Barbara Will, Prof. of English at Dartmouth College, will examine how the first World War altered the American literary landscape. Her talk will focus on the effect of the war on American writers, particularly John Dos Passos, T. S. Eliot, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Gertrude Stein. She'll explore how the war changed American literature and made it "modern," part of the Vermont Humanities Council's First Wednesdays lecture series. 7 p.m. Free.
