BRATTLEBORO Bagels and Blocks: Playgroup for Parents/Caregivers and their Infants/Toddlers: Purim party today. Make masks, eat some hamantaschen, sing some songs, and hear a story. BRATTLEBORO Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Ceremony: The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a prestigious national program that offers exhibition opportunities and scholarships to young artists and writers. 12 noon. Dance

BRATTLEBORO Balkan Cafe: International music, traditional dance, and food. Come to join in the dancing, listen to the music or just hang out and have a good time. Easy, beginner-friendly dances will be scattered throughout the afternoon with light teaching. Live music by Orkestar Banitsa, featuring Becky Ashenden (accordion, percussion), Barbara Blumenthal (tambura), Joe Blumenthal (string bass), Addie Rose Holland (clarinet), and Gawain Thomas (accordion). Banitsa plays traditional music from Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, and Greece in many styles. All levels welcome. 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. $12 suggested donation.
