BRATTLEBORO Free Class for Children: Animal Tea Party and Stories: In celebration of the Month of the Young Child, bring your favorite stuffed animal and dress up as an animal if you like. GUILFORD Lifeguard Training for American Red Cross Certification: Informational and organizational meeting. Must be 15 years of age by the end of the class to be eligible to become a Lifeguard/ Waterfront Lifeguard. Must be able to swim "freestyle/front crawl" and "breaststroke" for 550 yards continuously. Must successfully complete a 25-yard swim, feet first surface dive to a depth of 10 feet, retrieve a 10 lb. brick and return swim 25 yards without stopping or putting feet on the bottom and get out of the pool in allotted time. Must retrieve 3 rings under the water. Bring all schedules including sports, exam and social. Possible lifeguard candidates or a representative are also welcome. 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Free.
