BELLOWS FALLS RAMParts Presents: "Obsession": Jude Law (The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Young Pope, Sherlock Holmes, Sleuth) plays Gino, a drifter who is down on his luck and magnetically handsome. At a roadside restaurant he encounters husband and wife Giuseppe and Giovanna. Irresistibly attracted to each other, Gino and Giovanna begin a fiery affair and plot to murder her husband. GUILFORD Wendy Redlinger's Jazz Soiree: Bob Stabach 4tet: Performing original new compositions along with American Songbook classics recast in the jazz style. The pianist for the 4tet and artistic director of the Vermont Jazz Center is Eugene Uman who will be joined by bassist George Kaye and Pioneer Valley drummer Jon Fisher. 3 p.m. $15 suggested donation. SHELBURNE FALLS Sandglass Theater--"Punschi" at 9th Annual Syrup: One Sweet Performing Arts Festival: Pancakes, syrups, skits, and a CD release party plus free Real Pickles, Red Sox raffle, and more. Piti Theatre's international touring musical "To Bee or Not to Bee." Jana Zeller of Sandglass Theater will headline this celebration of spring, sap, and performance with Sandglass Theater's puppets-under-an-umbrella tale, "Punschi." Following the show, Jana will teach a puppet-making workshop for ages 6 and up. 11 a.m. pancakes/syrups, 2:30 p.m. musical, 3:45 p.m. "Punschi," 4:45 p.m. puppet-making workshop. $12, $10 students/seniors, $5 ages 12 and under. $7 workshop (includes materials). PUTNEY Putney Huddle, Judge Patricia Whalen, and more: Join in creating Love Brigade Postcards for victims of hate. BUHS students will share information on the Women's March #Enough walkout on March 14. Judge Patricia Whalen, special advisor to the War Crimes Chamber at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and from 2007 through 2012, international judge of the country's War Crimes Chamber—the busiest war crimes court in the world--will speak about her experiences and steps towards and prevention of fascism. Southern VT Sister District will be participating in a postcard drive in partnership with the Voter Participation Center to help register voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. The goals are to register voters in these states (with important mid-term elections) and to test the efficacy of postcarding in increasing voter registration. Postcards and messaging details will be provided.
