PUTNEY Next Stage Cooks: Cooking with Herbs: Learn all about cooking with herbs. Smell and taste many varieties and learn how to choose which herb to use, how to convert recipes from fresh to dried herbs, more. After a lively discussion, we'll make dishes using a variety of herbs. Menu: Vichyssoise, Shrimp in Herbed Oil, Asparagus with Pistachio-orange-basil sauce or Mixed Herbal Green Sauce, Pasta with Arugula and Basil Pesto or Mint Pesto, Carrots with Dill, Capers and Creme Fraiche, Spring Salad with Edible Flowers and Herbs, Cherry Thyme Clafoutis, Fruit Basil Galette. Advise if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. We'll dine together and wine is included. Instructor Linda Stavely has been a caterer in the Monadnock area as well as operating culinary businesses in the last 40 years in the region. She's traveled/studied in France, Italy, Mexico, the Middle East, the Caribbean and studied at the VT Culinary Center. She helped start the Common Ground restaurant in Brattleboro, started/ran The Portable Feast at the Colony Mill Marketplace in Keene, and teaches cooking classes in the Keene area. GUILFORD Tai Chi for Fall Prevention: These classes will introduce and practice the most basic movements of introductory forms taught by Dr. Paul Lam and recommended by the Arthritis Foundation.
