Vernon library: a beautiful, well-stocked jewel

Originally published in The Commons issue #399 (Wednesday, March 15, 2017).

RE: “Library could see big cuts” [Town and Village, Feb. 22]:

Santa Fe, N.M., where I live, had our city council proposing to close our branch library, one of two in this city. The people rose up and said, “No way.”

The city council listened, and our library still serves so many.

I know of the Vernon library, as my daughter Bridget lives across the street. I think it is a beautiful, well-stocked jewel. Please, keep it alive, as it is.

James McBride

Santa Fe, N.M.
