Farm workers deserve higher pay

The writer is 9 years old.

We are learning about people who pick our food — for example, strawberries.

People who pick our food don’t get paid enough. It is hard, because the sun is hot. Also, you have to bend down for strawberries. A lot of people get sick from pesticides.

Some people don’t even get the job because employers can hire only a limited number of people. For those who are hired, sometimes it can be hours in the bus or plane to get to a farm.

I think they should be paid more.
