Performing arts

GUILFORD CENTER "Broad Brook Anthology: Voices of Guilford Elders" by Verandah Porche: These are narratives Porche collected in her "Kitchen Talks with Guilford Elders." Their recollections, from the 1920s on, include memories of one-room schools, the hurricane of 1938, rural electrification, courtship and hardship and youthful mischief, read by some of the areas best actors and directed by Michael Fox Kennedy. This fall production is presented in association with Guilford's Monteverdi Artists Collaborative, celebrating its half-century anniversary this year. 11/25: 4 p.m. Seat cushion suggested. $10 at door or in advance. PUTNEY Putney Craft Tour: The oldest continuing crafts tour in the country presents glass blowers, potters, jewelers, weavers, painters, woodworkers, photographers – even artisan cheesemakers, winemakers, and custom bicycle makers. Visitors are invited to come in to their studios - discover, ask questions, sip hot cider, and buy a one-of-a-kind gift direct from the artisan who made it. Part of the fun is meandering through the beautiful Vermont countryside, following the map to find these prominent craftspeople, and viewing the works where they are conceived and created. Wine and Cheese tastings and demos.
