BRATTLEBORO Chronic Pain and Recovery Group: Recovery-support group for people in recovery who also deal with chronic pain. Chronic pain can be a difficulty for many people in recovery. The severity and frequency of chronic pain can often lead to opioid dependence because of the medications prescribed. Finding ways to manage pain that don't interfere with the recovery process can be a challenge, but group members can share the approaches that have worked for them. Facilitator is Cecil McLaury, who has been in recovery for 33 years and has been in daily chronic pain since 2003. 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. every Friday. Free. BRATTLEBORO Creative Thinking: Laughter, Dance, and Gong Meditation: The process of creation and meditation requires one to relax. Through laughter yoga and the Indian art of Indian Bhangra dancing, participants will have a chance to let loose and enjoy, working out excess energy in preparation of a relaxing gong meditation with singing bowls.
