PUTNEY New Hampshire Poet Laureate Alice B. Fogel : Fogel's presention, "Science, History, Music, Art, Dance, Vegetables, and Other Things That Aren't Related to Poetry (Or Are They?)," explores how her work is informed by her love of learning. She'll also read from her works to illustrate points about her creative process. Over a 25-year career, she's had six volumes of poetry published, in addition to being included in numerous anthologies and literary journals. She was appointed to a five-year term as New Hampshire Poet Laureate in 2014. Her book, "Interval: Poems Based on Bach's 'Goldberg Variations'," won the Nicholas Schaffner Award for Music in Literature and the 2016 NH Literary Award in Poetry. Her latest collection, "A Doubtful House," was released in 2017 by Bauhan Publishing. Fogel has served as an adjunct professor specializing in academic support at Landmark College for the past six years. 7 p.m. Free.
