BRATTLEBORO Quantum Social Change in the Climate Change Era: Each week in November, Wendy Webber will read an award-winning compelling story from the book "Stories to Empower Quantum Social Change: Our Entangled Future." This book was produced as part of the AdaptationCONNECTS research project which is studying the relationship between climate change adaptation and transformations to sustainability. Followed by a facilitated dialogue on the impact of the story on you and how it might empower you to rise into your own contribution to make a difference. 12 noon - 1 p.m. Free. BRATTLEBORO Osher Lifelong Learning Institute - Kingship and Authority in Selected Shakespeare Plays - "Richard III": Led by Geraldine Pittman Batlle, we'll consider the cultural context of the play such as the belief in the Great Chain of Being, the belief in the Divine Right of Kings and the practice of Witchcraft. Emphasis will be placed on those qualities so necessary for an enlightened and safe community: the importance of truth and language; the importance of trust and transparency; the honoring of historical and spiritual values shared by citizens; John Rawls's definition of justice as fairness; and the relationship between the king, the nobles, and the commoners. 10 a.m. - 12 noon. DOVER Fall Story Times: Story Time includes a sampling of some classic children's books as well as new releases related to different themes throughout the season.
