BRATTLEBORO Saltmarsh Avian Ecology: Samantha Apgar, a PhD candidate at the University of Connecticut, will share her research into salt marsh avian ecology. Sam studies the behavioral and physiological adaptations saltmarsh birds have developed to nest in an environment that floods every month. Her research on the Saltmarsh Sparrow, a species threatened by rising sea levels, was featured in the science section of the New York Times this past fall.
