PUTNEY Sandglass Theater - Footpath to the CIRCUS Puppets: Three excerpted scenes from our unusual circus show, The Pig Act (2000). Outdoor event includes: a trapeze artist, tightrope walker, and a dog whisperer, each with a unique twist! Performed by three generations of the Sandglass family with guest appearances by Chris Yerlig and original cast member of The Pig Act, Finn Campman. Original music composed by Ralph Denzer. And the pig? Well, you will surely see a most talented pig, aspiring to the heights of these circus performers with his own unique flair. 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. $10 and up (sliding scale). BELLOWS FALLS "All the President's Men" sponsored by Rockingham Arts and Museum Project (RAMP): This 1976 classic political thriller stars Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Robards in this landmark film that chronicles how two young reporters at the Washington Post in June 1972, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, were assigned to follow a trail of intrigue that exposed a shocking political scandal. Ultimately, their investigative journalism (with the help of confidential informant Deep Throat) brought down the Nixon White House and forced the resignation of President Nixon in 1974. 2 p.m. Physical distancing and masks required. 75 people max. In 1974, Bernstein and Woodward wrote "All the President's Men," which was made into this film. Nominated for 8 Academy Awards, Golden Globe, BAFTA recognition, this timeless movie is a cautionary tale about corruption at the highest levels of government, reckless political power, results of operating outside the law. Democracy Defenders Weekly Call - hosted by Rights & Democracy VT and Rights & Democracy NH (via Zoom): Join us for this Democracy Defenders call on this last Sunday before the election. We'll strategize how to get out the vote, recruit volunteers and poll workers for Election Day, and take collective action after the election to protect our democracy and start healing our country. While we hope to celebrate victory on November 4th, these months of extreme uncertainty have taught us that our best course of action is to be united and prepared.
