NEWFANE "Preserving the Harvest": Celeste Longacre offers a slide show on how to can, pickle, and freeze the harvest from a garden: Freeze broccoli, corn, peppers, beans, berries and purslane; make pickles; prepare spaghetti sauce and can it; dry herbs and flowers; build a root cellar and how to prepare the potatoes, beets and carrots to go into it; prepare winter squash and onions in order to keep; make sauerkraut & garlic powder; dry grapes and apples. 11 a.m. - 12 noon.
