PUTNEY StompBoxTrio: Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present a lawn concert by this Americana band based in western MA. Featuring Evelyn Harris (vocals, percussion), John Caban ("Dobro" steel guitar, stompbox) and David Rodriguez (wood bass, foot tambourine). The trio reaches deep into the wellspring of vintage American blues, funk, and soul while adding some 21st century mojo to bring folks an unforgettable hip-shaking, foot-stomping great time. 6:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for outdoor seating in distanced pods on the ballfield, and face masks to wear whenever you leave your pod. NEWFANE "Preserving the Harvest": Celeste Longacre offers a slide show on how to can, pickle, and freeze the harvest from a garden: Freeze broccoli, corn, peppers, beans, berries and purslane; make pickles; prepare spaghetti sauce and can it; dry herbs and flowers; build a root cellar and how to prepare the potatoes, beets and carrots to go into it; prepare winter squash and onions in order to keep; make sauerkraut & garlic powder; dry grapes and apples. 11 a.m. - 12 noon. BRATTLEBORO Red Cross Blood Drive: Blood levels are historically low and this is our chance to help. Winston Prouty and the American Red Cross are hosting monthly blood drives for the next three months.
