BRATTLEBORO "Music Under the Stars" Live Drive-In Concerts: The BMC Pops Orchestra 2020 with conductor Zon Eastes will perform Mozart, Britten, Montgomery, and Joplin. 6 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic as you enjoy live music in a magical VT setting, safe, and socially-distanced. Gates open at 5 p.m. Also see 8/29 (rain date 8/30). Presented by the Brattleboro Music Center and Retreat Farm. Free. (Suggested donation of $20 per car is appreciated to help defray costs). Farmers' markets

WEST TOWNSHEND Farmers Market, Pizza, Music with Bard Owl (T. Breeze Verdant and Annie Landenberger) and Stephen Iachetta: Area vendors, pizza baked in the outdoor oven. Verdant on guitar, vocals, stomp box and Landenberger on vocals and percussion. They've been making music since 2016 honing sweet harmonies, driving rhythms and several Verdant originals. He has a half a century of composing and playing rock/folk under his belt while her past covers a range of vocals - folk, rock, jazz, classical, musicals. They will be joined by Stephen Iachetta, widely known in the Albany area from which he hails as the "Shaker fiddler.". 5-7:30 p.m. Pizza and Music. Safe distancing and masks required. Credit, debit, EBT payments accepted. Community building

Historical Society Silent Online Auction: The Auction, originally scheduled for last March as part of the Society's annual Soup Fest/Silent Auction fundraiser, was cancelled due to Covid-19. But you can still support the Society's mission of preserving our County's Heritage by participating in the Online Auction. A selection of items were generously donated by local businesses and individuals are available for bidding Online. Proceeds from the auction will support the Historical Society and the West River Railroad Museum. 8/28:12 noon - 9/4:12 noon. After purchasing the Newfane Railroad Station in 2014, the Historical Society restored the 1880 Depot building and Water Tank House. The West River Railroad Museum opened in 2017. The Historical Society has an extensive collection of West River Railroad artifacts, documents, photographs which are on display in the Museum. The restored Railroad Station provides a visual and accessible presentation for all ages as well as an engaging teaching tool for educators and parents. The Railroad Museum and the Society's County Museum are open weekends 12 noon-5 p.m. through mid-Oct. Through Friday, September 4. Livestream.
