BRATTLEBORO Art for Social Change: Open art studio to use for printmaking, drawing, and painting to create art around issues of the pandemic, social and racial justice, 2020 election, the climate crisis. Help spread messages of transformation, unity and justice all over the town of Brattleboro. Drop-ins welcome. 1-4 p.m. on Fridays. Masks required, 6 people max. in studios. Paste ups will be put up in town 10/15-11/15/20. Also, River Gallery School will have an art table at the Solidarity Friday rallies in Pliny Park for art/sign making from 5-6:30 p.m. Sponsored by The Root Social Justice Center, River Gallery School, In-Sight Photography Project. BRATTLEBORO Solidarity Fridays - Our Struggles Are Connected: Weekly protest organized by Brattleboro Solidarity, The Root Justice Center, Tenants Union of Brattleboro, and Lost River Racial Justice focusing on current local/national issues. Bring signs, banners, chalk, noise makers to rally for the world we want. This week we'll make connections between the struggles of people on a global scale - from the annexation of land and occupation of Palestine, to brutal weaponized tactics of Federal agents against Portland protesters, to the systemic racism rampant across the world, and to local efforts toward examining police brutality and safety in Brattleboro, in the diversity of our struggles we are all united!. 5-7 p.m. Masks required (masks on hand for those without). Hand sanitizer on site.
