BRATTLEBORO Brattleboro Camerata Inaugural Concert (In-Person/Online): This chamber choir specializes in Renaissance-era and Renaissance-inspired music. The group consists of 17 singers offering a program of 10 seasonal works spanning the years 1400-1600 entitled "The Angels Sang." The pieces include English carols, German chorales, Latin motets, and Spanish villancicos from familiar names like Palestrina, Josquin, di Lasso, and Victoria, as well as less frequently performed composers like the Spanish Mateo Flecha and Cristobal de Morales, and the African-Portuguese Vicente Lusitano. 4-5:30 p.m. The concert will also be live streamed on Brattleboro Community Television's YouTube and Facebook channels. BELLOWS FALLS Rupert Wates: London-born touring artist Rupert Wates brings us his American acoustic folk steeped in deep wells of cabaret and jazz. With the lyricism of Gordon Lightfoot and the attention to craft of Richard Thompson, his highly developed songwriting is by turns vulnerable and bold, featuring intricate lyrics and memorable melodies, exceptional guitar skills, and a smooth, expressive voice. Wates has released 11 internationally acclaimed solo albums, won dozens of songwriting awards, and his work has been covered by artists in the UK, Canada, the US, including two tribute albums to his material.
