SOLOs Episode 5: Tenor Saxophonist Travis Laplante performs "Dissolving Mirror": New Amsterdam Records recording artist and Yellow Barn contributor Travis Laplante performs his composition "Dissolving Mirror" in SOLOs Episode 5. 7:30 p.m. Filmed on the Hooker-Dunham stage, Laplante's performance premieres simultaneously on BCTV and YouTube. Brattleboro Solidarity offers PBS's "The First Rainbow Coalition" followed by Discussion (via Zoom): "This film documents the Black Panthers' political work with the Young Lords and the Young Patriots in Chicago in 1969. Led by Fred Hampton, the Panthers reached out to the all-white, confederate flag-wearing Young Patriots to organize together against their common oppressors. While we work to strengthen and deepen the Black Lives Matter movement, it is imperative that we remember Fred Hampton and the Panthers' legacy of organizing around class.". 7 p.m. Free. Zoom. WEST TOWNSHEND Dinner Together Cooking Kits for Families in the West River Modified School District: West River Modified School District families are eligible to receive 3 cooking kits with all the ingredients provided for Dinner Together healthy recipes. Eating as a family develops lifelong healthy eating habits, improves children's learning and well-being, and teens are more likely to have better self-esteem and less likely to experience depression or develop an eating disorder. RiseVT-Windham County's Dinner Together meal-kits offer recipes and tips for developing the habit of regularly sharing family meals together. 2-4 p.m. First come, first served, no sign-up.
