Vermont Independent Media announces The Media Mentoring Project (via Zoom): The goal of the first Media Mentoring Workshop - "Media Strategy for Events - Integrating Traditional Media with Social for Larger Impact" is to assist area residents in building writing, journalism, and other media literacy skills. The session covers strategies for building buzz: digital and social media, press releases, pitch letters, media alerts, calendar listings, radio and TV interviews, etc. VIM/The Commons is committed to going beyond what most people expect of a free weekly newspaper. Our goal - to assist area residents with media literacy skills -follows our belief that a vibrant democracy requires an informed, empowered, and outspoken citizenry. 7:30 p.m. (assisted by BCTV). Participants include: Randolph Holhut, News Editor of VIM/The Commons; Keith Marks, Exec. Dir., Next Stage Arts; Lynn Barrett, President & Founder of Primetime Concepts, Inc. and President of the Board, VIM/The Commons.
