BRATTLEBORO UMass Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Ayano Kataoka: Percussionist/marimbist Ayano Kataoka is known for her dynamic and brilliant technique as well as the elegance and artistry she brings to her performances. A versatile performer, she regularly presents music of diverse genres and mediums. A leading proponent of contemporary repertoire, Kataoka has participated in several consortiums to commission works for solo marimba or chamber ensemble from such composers as Charles Wuorinen, Martin Bresnick, Paul Lansky, Alejandro Vinao. She was the first percussionist to be chosen for The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's Chamber Music Society Two, a 3-season residency program for emerging artists offering high-profile performance opportunities in collaboration with The Chamber Music Society. Kataoka joined the faculty of the University of MA Amherst in 2008. 7 p.m. in the Wolf Kahn & Emily Mason Gallery. $5, free for BMAC members and youth 18 and under. BELLOWS FALLS Dan and Faith: Multi-instrumentalist husband and wife duo Daniel Senie (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and Faith Senie (mandolin, bass, ukulele, dulcimer, vocals) are old school-folk singer-songwriter-storytellers whose writing and delivery have a direct line of descent from the coffeehouse scene of the early '60s - wholesome, progressive, friendly with a sound rooted in tight, interwoven harmonies. 7 p.m. Performance recorded and filmed.
