BRATTLEBORO Lunchtime Pipe Organ Series - Tim Pyper: Organ music will range from J.S. Bach to contemporary composer Zachary Wadsworth. Described by "The American Organist" as possessing "effortless technique and sensitive musicality," Pyper's practice as an organist involves an interest in embodied learning. He's won first prize at several organ competitions, such as the Arthur Poister Memorial Competition and Royal Canadian College of Organists' National Competition. His solo recitals have aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the National Public Radio program Pipedreams. 12 noon-1 p.m. The Lunchtime Pipe Organ Series is one of several innovative programs utilizing the historic 1906 Estey pipe organ - installed in the sanctuary of the former church renovated in 2019 to house Epsilon Spires. BRATTLEBORO A Silent Vigil of Loving Kindness: Under a banner that reads, "Holding a Space of Loving Kindness for All Living Beings," we conduct a silent vigil. Our purpose is to serve as a living reminder of the inherent goodness of each of us, as well as our inextricable connection with one another. Join us in extending sentiments of loving kindness to all living beings: to family and friends, neighbors and strangers, kindred spirits and adversaries, human and non-human beings, alike. And to ourselves, as well. 4:30-5:30 p.m. Join us for a few minutes or the full hour every other Wednesday. Choose to stand, kneel, or sit in a chair you bring (stone benches circle the Fountain). Please mask and observe appropriate distancing. Wells Fountain, south side Windham County District Courthouse, Jct . Putney Rd. & Main St. (Rte 30). GUILFORD Tai Chi for Fall Prevention: These classes practice basic tai chi forms to improve strength and balance. The pace is smooth, slow and can be done while seated if necessary. Instructor Leah Gessner is certified by Tai Chi Vermont, Inc. in Fall Prevention Tai Chi. Wednesdays: 9:30-10:15 a.m. Ongoing Beginners; 10:30-11:15 a.m. Beginners.
