BRATTLEBORO "Cabaret' - Book by Joe Masteroff based on the play by John Van Druten and Stories by Christopher Isherwood: This captivating musical theater experience is directed by Rebecca Waxman, working alongside a vibrant artistic team that includes choreographer, Shoshana Bass and Music Director, Bob Theis. NEYT is dedicated to fostering an experience full of challenge, discovery and wonder. This production contains mature themes that question ideas of freedom, morality, prejudice, self-delusion and survival. The trailblazing book and score create a world that is intended to push against the boundaries and comfort zones of performers and audiences alike. BRATTLEBORO "The 39 Steps": Based on a 1935 British thriller film, with the same title, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It concerns a Canadian civilian in London, Richard Hannay, who tries to prevent an organization of spies from stealing British military secrets. Mistakenly accused of the murder of a counter-espionage agent, Hannay goes on the run to Scotland and becomes tangled up with an attractive woman while hoping to stop the spy ring and clear his name. 6 p.m. Through Saturday, March 18. W. BRATTLEBORO POSTPONED TILL APRIL: "Love's Gonna Carry Us" - A Singalong Concert with Annie Patterson and Peter Blood: You are invited to an evening of songs of joy, resilience, and justice. Annie and Peter will lead the audience in singing out of their songbooks "Rise Up Singing" and "Rise Again." Bring copies of the songbooks if you have them. Both songbooks will be available to purchase. Copies of "Rise Again" available to borrow during the concert. Audience will be invited to join in on most songs. We'll listen to Annie's voice on some songs. 7 p.m. Masks required. $20 donation for adults suggested to benefit Community Asylum Seekers Project. Free for refugees and ages 18 and under.
