Good day to you, Windham County dwellers! After a veritable deluge yesterday due to our cold front swinging through the region and sweeping humid air seaward, we've got much nicer weather on the way!
We can expect sunny and increasingly drier conditions to rule our roost from Wednesday through Saturday. After that point, we will be watching as low pressure looks to swing up the coast in a sort of winter-time pattern that may bring slightly cooler and rainy weather to southern Vermont for Sunday and Monday.
Having said that, let's jump into the details!
For Wednesday, high pressure will continue to work into the region, pushing yesterday's cold front deeper out to sea. Expect sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, with lows in the low 50s under clear skies as drier air settles into the region. Some patchy early morning fog is possible on Thursday.
For the period Thursday through Saturday, we should see high pressure dominance continue with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the mid to upper 50s with plenty of sunshine during the day, and mostly clear skies at night. Humidity should continue to be on the low side until sometime on Saturday, when it should start to increase again.
By Saturday night, clouds should start building into the region. We will see an upper level low set up over the Great Lakes Region.
At the same time, a surface disturbance will be encouraged to strengthen off the North Carolina coast and will be guided up the coast by the counterclockwise and cyclonic flow around the aforementioned upper low.
This should drive a low pressure system into New England for Sunday and Monday, resulting in substantial (and much needed) rainfall. We're making a dent in the drought folks!
Highs from Sunday through Tuesday should be in the upper 70s to low 80s on average, with generally unsettled conditions expected. Have a great week!
