Broad Brook Community Center is open!

GUILFORD — On Nov. 11, Broad Brook Community Center held an Apple Pie Social, welcoming the Guilford community back into the 120-year-old former Broad Brook Grange building after a first phase of renovations: a new accessible entry ramp and bathrooms, kitchen improvements, and fire escape from the second-floor auditorium.

It was a festive occasion, and we have many people and organizations to thank, including the people of Guilford who believe in the importance of making the Grange building a safer, more inclusive, and code-compliant gathering place for the town and the region, including the 56 individual donors who have contributed to the campaign so far. Your ideas and support are making this possible.

We are happy to hire Guilford businesses and keep our dollars local. Another phase of work slated for 2020 will add an elevator, sprinkler system, upgrades to septic and other utilities, and further kitchen improvements. The board is continuing to raise funds to complete the project.

In the meantime, the Broad Brook Community Center is open and lively!
