BRATTLEBORO—On Saturday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m., Cirque Us is back in Brattleboro with “RagTag: A Circus in Stitches,” at the New England Center for Circus Arts trapezium.

Join Cirque Us’s RagTag group of thread-barren, yarn-spinning characters around the fire as they explore a new patchwork world and be entwined with a group of mismatched artists as they stitch together a tapestry of talents.

From high-flying, knot-tying, gravity defying aerialists, to loopy jugglers, to musicians that pull your heart strings, and comedy that leaves you in stitches, will gather stories that never got to be told.

Can they find a common thread? Come witness how six separate threads are inevitably intertwined.

The show features many professional circus artists that got their starts in Brattleboro at NECCA’s professional training programs, including Nina Gershy, who has performed with ABCirque and New York Fashion Week; Rena Dimes, a professional aerialist and contortionist; and highwire walker, Sorrell Nielsen.

The RagTag team is directed by Jesse Dryden, an instructor at the National Circus School of Montreal and former creative director of Circus Smirkus for 10 years.

Cirque Us was founded in 2016 and strives to create pieces that share pillars of friendship, play and exploration with local communities. Based in Massachusetts, the Cirque Us team is composed of artists from all over the country.

The team of designers, performers, and other collaborators seek to provide a perspective from their generation that can resonate with all ages. It is their mission to bring high-level, affordable circus performances to difference communities and share the values of teamwork, the importance of play, and a reminder to not take ourselves too seriously.

Cirque Us is a circus collective on their fourth tour, and they are gaining national attention as they debut “RagTag: a Circus in Stitches” at New England Center for Circus Arts.
