Wilmington Works hosts a weekend for women

WILMINGTON — Wilmington Works presents the third annual Wilmington Women's Weekend on Oct. 26 and 27.

Organizers say this yearly celebration offers women a chance to come together and enjoy a day or weekend getaway at their own pace in a quintessential Vermont village.

The weekend begins with a marketplace of women-owned micro businesses in Wilmington's Historic Memorial Hall at 14 West Main St. on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (free admission). The marketplace includes hand-made items such as jewelry, woven items, and art, as well as free demonstrations by local wellness practitioners and service providers.

In the afternoon, activities will include a Paint and Sip class at the Wilmington Inn ($35; pre-registration required via wilmingtonworksvt.com or by calling the Inn at 802-464-3768), free workshops, and time to explore Wilmington's shops and restaurants, which will be offering tastings and pop-up special events.

On Saturday at 7 p.m., Brattleboro-based style icon Stasia Savasuk will take the stage at Memorial Hall to speak about her unique approach to “Style for the Everyday Gal,” and dressing for confidence and joy.

Tickets are available in advance at Wilmingtonworksvt.com, at the Marketplace, or at the door ($12 advance; $15 day-of).

Sunday morning offerings include a special morning yoga class suitable for all levels led by Jill Sachs, with live music by Brooke Woodside in Memorial Hall. (8:30 to 10 a.m.; $12 in advance or drop-in).

At 10:30, gather in Wilmington's West Main Street Parking lot (entrance at 20 W. Main Street) to carpool to Haystack Mountain trailhead for a group hike. This is a 4-mile round-trip hike of moderate difficulty; dress for weather and mountain conditions.

Or, meet at Memorial Hall at 11 a.m. for a guided walk around Wilmington's Historic Walking Tour (about an hour of flat walking on pavement).
