Pedestrian, seasonable weather rounds out the month of October

Hello and good day to you, residents of lovely Windham County, Vermont! I hope things are well with you. We've got a few wet weather chances over the next seven days, but nothing that looks overly impressive or super impactful.

Temperatures will oscillate within seasonal levels, so it's a steady-as-we-go type of weather week ahead, I believe.

For Wednesday, we'll start off with some showers, but should transition to a sunny, mild day. Sunshine on Thursday leads to some more showers by Friday evening and night. Thereafter, a mostly fair weekend arrives with some showers again moving through Sunday night into Monday with clearing possible by Tuesday.

With our weekly weather picture properly painted, let's jump into the daily details!

For Wednesday, a storm system and frontal boundary will be pushing east of the region. Given its orientation between high pressure to our southwest and low pressure to our northwest, we'll see westerly winds gusting 20 to 30 mph at times with highs in the low to upper 50s from the higher elevations to the Connecticut River valley. Expect lows to drop into the mid to upper 30s under clearing skies and calming winds.

For Thursday, a gorgeous, sunny day is on tap! Highs should reach the upper 50s to low 60s with light wind. Lows will likely drop into the upper 30s to low 40s under partly cloudy skies.

For Friday, a cooler day is expected with highs in the low to mid 50s. While some partly sunny skies can be expected earlier on in the day, clouds are expected to build by afternoon and evening as more scattered showers approach the region on the heels of an incoming cold front.

While substantial rains are not expected, we can still plan on scattered showers by Friday evening and through Friday night, when lows should dip into the upper 30s. Could a few snowflakes mix in at the top of Mount Snow and Stratton? Sure, but no accumulation is expected.

For the high terrain in western parts of Windham County, orographically-induced showers are possible early on Saturday. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s, and lows in the low 30s. Sunday should feature more sunshine, but with similar high temperatures.

By Sunday night, another frontal boundary arrives, and will bring more scattered showers overnight and into Monday with lows in the mid to upper 30s. Highs on Monday should reach the low to mid 50s with partly sunny skies by afternoon, and a similarly fair weather day on Tuesday. Have a great week!
