NEWFANE—The Crowell Gallery at Moore Free Library, 23 West St., presents the paintings and pastels of four accomplished Massachusetts artists from the Deerfield Valley Art Association through the month of December.
The works of artists Leni Gaudet, Karen Evans, Marie Welch, and Jenny Tibbits share a reverence for the natural world and a deep appreciation for reflective light and seasonal color. The oil miniatures of Welch will share space with the landscapes and still lifes of Evans, Gaudet, and Tibbits.
The DVAA was formed in 1931 by artists local to the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts and the hill towns of Vermont. Their mission is to encourage, create, and foster appreciation of and support for the fine arts and crafts in our region through ongoing exhibitions, education, demonstrations by prominent artists and crafters, scholarships for art students, and other activities.
They are a non-juried association open to all genres of the arts and crafts of New England.
The gallery is open during library hours: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 1 to 5 p.m., Thursdays 2 to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
