Voters to select WSESD School Directors on Town Meeting Day

BRATTLEBORO — Voters in the four communities that make up the Windham Southeast School District (WSESD) - Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, and Putney - will vote, by Australian Ballot, to elect School Directors to the WSESD School Board on Town Meeting Day on March 3.

School Director positions are At-Large: All School Directors equally represent all four communities of the WSESD, and the voters of all four communities cast ballots to elect all School Directors, including those who reside in another town, on a single ballot. Voters continue to cast ballots in their home communities.

Six will be elected from the nominees for School Director. One will be a Brattleboro resident serving a one-year term. Two - one from Brattleboro and one from Dummerston - will serve two-year terms, and three - one each from Brattleboro, Dummerston, and Putney - will serve for three-year terms.

Timothy Maciel is running for the one-year seat for Brattleboro.

Running for the two-year seats are Jaci Joanne Reynolds of Brattleboro and incumbent Thomas Nolan of Dummerston.

Running for the three-year slots are incumbent Emily Murphy Kaur and Kimberly Price for the Brattleboro seat, Michelle Luetjen Green for the Dummerston seat, and Liz Adams and Tara Davis Castine for the Putney seat.

Want to learn more about the candidates? Declared candidates as of the filing-deadline were sent a questionnaire - responses to which were posted on the WSESD website's information page at sites.google.com/wsesu.org/wsesdboard/information.

A candidate forum held on Feb. 11 was video-recorded by BCTV. Footage can be found on BCTV's website at www.brattleborotv.org/windham-southeast-school-district-candidate-forum/wsesd-candidate-forum-21120.
