Thanks from new trustee

I thank everyone, from California to Maine, who wrote letters and spoke to me privately in support of my appointment to the Rockingham Free Public Library Board of Trustees on Oct. 2.

I also thank those who commented so positively on my recent column [“What happens when a library loses its spirit,” Sept. 25]. Their letters and messages of support were not only moving and validating, they also show that the community cares deeply about our library as we move forward in our newly renovated building.

For that I am grateful, too.
