In addition to drastically increasing greenhouse gas emissions (natural gas is primarily methane, a potent greenhouse gas), prices for fracked natural gas have nowhere to go but up.
It seems like going with a zero-fuel-cost energy source would make a lot more sense.
...Certainly, Vermont should not be adding a dirty-fossil-fuel plant! How about a solar facility with non-toxic aqueous battery storage instead? Keep moving forward. Don't backslide!
