On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of Groundworks Collaborative, I thank the many individuals and businesses who made our eighth annual Hike for the Homeless on Oct. 13 another successful fundraiser to support our neighbors in need.
Thirty hearty participants turned out in the rain on that chilly morning to help Groundworks raise over $16,000 in support of our work to house our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Teams and individuals trekked to the summit of Mount Wantastiquet, and several walked the River Trail at the mountain's base.
The importance of this event is all the more salient on a cold and rainy day like that one. We're grateful for those who turned out to hike that day, and mindful of our neighbors experiencing homelessness who were out tenting until the Seasonal Overflow Shelter opened Nov. 12.
We're very thankful for the support of our participants, as well as their networks of friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers who pledged the donations.

Teams and individuals started hiking at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - some trekked to the summit of Mount Wantastiquet, while others walked the River...
On behalf of the staff, board, residents, and clients of Groundworks Collaborative, I extend our abundant thanks to the members of House Blend, Singcrony Trio, and Big Woods Voices - three local a cappella groups who generously donated their time and talents to benefit our work. On April 16, these three groups performed the Gimme Shelter concert before an audience at the Hooker Dunham Theater. Last year, the Singcrony Quartet put together the first Gimme Shelter concert to support the...
The staff and board of directors of Groundworks Collaborative thank The Commons for its continued commitment to report on homelessness in a respectful and dignified way. Olga Peters' recent story is no different. However, given the recent changes at Groundworks Collaborative, it would be good to clarify and expand on a couple specifics. Groundworks Collaborative was established in 2015 as a result of the merger of two well-established organizations: the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center and Morningside Shelter. Our mission...
