Why would Brattleboro’s continued relationship with Rescue Inc. not have been a topic of public discussion? Town voters — not the Selectboard and town manager — should have the final say.

By now, Brattleboro residents have heard the town's intent to sign a contract with for-profit Golden Cross ambulance service and discontinue its 56-year annual contract with nonprofit Rescue Inc.
