There has been considerable debate relative to private schools and their supporters' reluctance toward the state Board of Education's proposed 2200-series rules on nondiscrimination:
As parents of two children enrolled in public school, we are concerned about a clear lack of equity in education.
We are also dumbfounded by the lack of ethics and mores of those who seek to protect private schools and the status quo at the cost of, and causing harm to, people who are poor, disadvantaged, and disabled. We all are responsible for the education of all of our children.
The proposed rules are designed to ensure educational equity and the transparent use of public funds. Who can be against open admissions, fairness in education, and attributable administration?...
