Time for the world to divert the resources from war to climate

An armistice is a bilateral (or multilateral) agreement to stop fighting. The Will Miller Green Mountain chapter of Veterans For Peace is urging our representatives in Washington to introduce legislation in Congress to change the name of Veterans Day back to Armistice Day, with the goal of creating a World Armistice Day to promote halting hostilities and the support for hostilities. The hope is to foster real cooperation among the nations of the world.

It is time for nations of the world to divert the resources from preparing for and waging war to cooperating to reverse the trajectory of the climate crisis. Every reduction in militarization also means a reduction in greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.

World War I was fought to make arms manufacturers richer. It's time to end that cycle.
